Spoon calipers are manufactured by Nissin, the OE supplier of all Honda brakes. The Spoon Twin-Block caliper was developed over a year specifically for the 96-00 EK9 Civic Type-R and 96-01 DC2 Integra Type-R. For the S2000, Spoon designed the Mono-block caliper, whose one piece construction improved rigidity. Spoon Twin-Block version is recommended for generation Honda vehicles such as the 5-lugged DC2 Integra Type-R and EK9 Civic Type-R.
Spoon calipers are a direct fit and are designed to work with the stock brake system, including the ABS. Spoon Twin Block calipers use stock Honda sized Integra/Civic Type-R shaped brake pads, which gives users incredible flexibility in choosing pads and pad compounds.
The 4-pot calipers significantly improve both high speed braking and brake pedal feel and its consistency during track use.

Note: The included washer(s) placement depends on vehicle spindle application (see PDF file below). End users who wish to remain 4-lug and wish to use Twin Blocks, using Mini Cooper front rotors (22x280) is a viable solution. Only 4-lug spindles that originally support a 10.2" rotor + brake caliper are compatible with Spoon Twin Block calipers. Spindles that originally support a 9.2" rotor + caliper is not compatible with Twin Blocks.
